At the end our meeting that evening, I told my friend that I couldn’t find anywhere in the bible where it talks about Jesus being God. Immediately and in a relaxed and gentle manner, he gave me some references and asked me to look at the following verses:
John 10: 30-33
30 I and the Father are one.”
31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.
32 Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?”
33 The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.”
1 John 5: 7-12
7 For there are three that testify:
8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.
10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.
11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
Now I know that nowhere in the bible ever mentioned Jesus as God the Son but the biblical reference of Jesus is the son of God. Even Christians got confused by the two and I was enlightened that Isa Al Masih is a perfect man who was sent by Allah s.w.t. as a saviour. The more I learn the truth about Isa Al Masih, the more I fall in love with him day by day. During my journey of faith I experienced many scary happenings which tried to stop me from knowing more about Isa. When I discussed these matters with my friends, they advised me to pray fervently to Allah s.w.t. and when I experienced any form of spiritual attack, to quickly call on the name of Isa Al Masih.
One night in my dream I see my grandmother, who’s dead for many years, standing alive in front of me and beside her is a person whose body is covered with bright light but I couldn’t see his face. I ask my grandmother how she could still be alive when she is dead for many years. Then the person who is bright with light asks me if I believe that my grandmother can be resurrected. In a state of shock I reply to him how this is possible since she is dead for a long time. The person in turn tells me that with him all things are possible. He then puts his hand on my head and says, “Don’t worry my child, I have chosen you for me.” Suddenly I woke up, I couldn’t explain how real his presence was, my brain was so calm and peaceful. I shared this experience with my friend and mentor, and he told me that the person in my dream was none other than Isa Al Masih .I was so glad and felt honoured that Isa accepted my struggle of seeking the truth about him.
After months of studying the holy scriptures with my friends, I began to realise the reason why most Muslims do not have power in their lives to live a victorious life as Muslims. It is due to the power of sin that so strongly controls them. One good example is my business partners who were outwardly pious, never missed any salat but inwardly full of greed. Allah s.w.t knows mankind has no power to fight against sin and that is why He has sent Isa Al Masih to the world, as a Sign unto men and Mercy from Him towards mankind, being born as a perfect man to be the perfect sacrifice to redeem us from sin. Surah 19: 21 – He said: “So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, ‘that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us’: It is a matter (so) decreed.” I began to wonder why the mullahs in my country try their best to stop Muslims talking and asking questions about Isa Al Masih when his purpose of coming into this world is to save mankind from being controlled by sin that is ever so powerful.
My friends, who are followers of Isa, advised me to become a true Muslim, one who totally surrenders to Allah s.w.t and believe in Isa Al Masih as my Lord and Saviour. After renouncing the superficiality of Islam and embraced a true Islam of totally surrendering myself to Allah s.w.t., I confessed my sins and I received Al Masih Isa as my Lord and Saviour. My confession was with faith and total confidence in Isa. Immediately, I went through sibghah of Allah through water baptism. When I went into the water, it symbolized my death to my sins where I have died with Isa who died for my sin. Coming out of the water symbolized my resurrection into a new life; I am now alive to Allah s.w.t. in Al Masih Isa. I realized baptism is also mentioned in Al Quran in Surah 2: 138 – (Our religion is) the Baptism of Allah: And who can baptize better than Allah? And it is He Whom we worship (Yusuf Ali’s translation of the Al Quran). Then my friends prayed for me for the filling of the Holy Spirit. I was transformed and spiritually born again.
During the whole following week after my sibghah, my desire for the things of this world was totally gone. I spent most of the time crying like a child. My tears were the tears of grief and sorrow because I realized that I was completely lost and I was going to end up in hell had Isa not taken the initiative to rescue me. I realized that all my life I believed in lies and I promoted them. Meanwhile, my tears were also the tears of joy. I couldn’t imagine how much Isa loves me regardless of all my evil deeds in the past. I realized that I have been saved and rescued only by the grace and mercy of Allah s.w.t through Isa Al Masih and nothing of my own.
